Annabelle scarf with fingering weight undyed

I thought I'd take a moment this shockingly frigid morning to show you what I'm currently working on. Still knitting belated gifts, since school ate all my holiday prep time (and money)! I'm thrilled to be knitting with my own yarn! What a delight to share handmade items from my flock.

#1 - Annabelle scarf
Annabelle was a bottle lamb from my first flock. I couldn't get her to bottle feed but Nick could. He spent countless hours patiently feeding and sleeping with her. We named her after our grandmothers. It hurts that I haven't been able to find her. I had her lamb fleece processed into fingering weight to make sure I'd have enough to make Nick an item of his choice. He wanted a scarf, so here it is. The best part is I have enough yarn to share! 250yd skeins, $15.

#2 - UofL scarf in acrylic and hand dyed worsted weight Ballyhoo yarn
Kevin wanted a toboggan (it's finished) and scarf in UofL colors. I kind of made up the hat as I went along, while looking for a suitable "manly" pattern for the scarf. I finally found one I liked, but had to order the proper size needles. While waiting, Kevin really liked my heavy, triple yarn chunky scarf. Well, I had the needles for that! So that prezzie ought to be done in time for the 50 degree weather later this week. Go Cards!
